Loni Landon Dance Project performs original works featuring lush, innovative movement full of subtle detail and sophistication by Artistic Director Loni Landon, who aims to maintain a highly charged emotional current throughout every piece. Ms. Landon will present two pieces during the NY Quadrille: Rebuilding Sandcastles, which made its premiere at The Joyce Theater in February 2013 and the world premiere of FAST LOVE, a work which dissects the idea of connection as informed by our contemporaneously socialized selves.
Commissioning support for the NY Quadrille has been provided by The Joyce Theater’s Stephen and Cathy Weinroth Fund for New Work. Special support for The Joyce’s presentation of the NY Quadrille provided by Howard Gilman Foundation and Michael Rubin Architects. Underwriting support provided by Michael and Nancy Feller. Major support for The Joyce’s Closing the Gap Initiative promoting female choreographers provided by the Rockefeller Brothers Fund.
Landon, a graduate of Juilliard, is a choreographer to note for the future. She favors a movement style that emphasizes speed, crisp yet feathery attacks and isolations that test the dancers.
