Co-commissioned by The Joyce, Abrons Arts Center and the Chocolate Factory
Known for her quirky, theatrical and delicate choreographic hand, Guggenheim Award-winner Ivy Baldwin makes her Joyce debut with Keen [No. 2]. This new work grows out of an open-eyed exploration of that which we uncomfortably avoid: the contours of grief. The rites and rituals, spoken and unspoken, public and hidden, age-old and brand-new, grieving and salutary.
Keen [No. 2] is performed by Ivy Baldwin, Eleanor Smith, and Katie Workum, with Anna Adams Stark, Katie Dean, Dia Dearstyne, Heather Olson, Kay Ottinger, Tara Sheena, Marya Wethers, and Tara Willis; with a score by Justin Jones; lighting by Chloe Z. Brown; set design by Wade Kavanaugh and Stephen B. Nguyen, and costumes by Mindy Nelson.
Ivy Baldwin Dance creative producer, Meredith Boggia
These performances will take place at Abrons Arts Center Playhouse Theater, 466 Grand Street, New York, NY 10002.
