MOMIX

See the NYC premiere of Moses Pendleton's latest creation BOTANICA, in which the natural world is transformed into a multimedia theatrical spectacle by the supremely talented performers of Pendleton's internationally celebrated company MOMIX. Come enjoy Trey McIntyre Project as the company makes its NYC debut with an evening of dances bursting with dazzling creativity and heightened physicality! Trey McIntyre has had a prolific 18-year career creating works for companies ranging from ABT to Stuttgart Ballet to Hubbard Street. Using classical ballet as the point of departure, McIntyre creates emotionally-charged dances that defy categorization. See three of his latest works: (serious), set to music by Henry Cowell, Leatherwing Bat, set to a medley of Peter, Paul and Mary songs and Ma Maison, with music from the Preservation Hall Jazz Band. read more »

Jennifer Muller/The Works presents its 35th Anniversary Season featuring the highly-anticipated world-premiere of Bench, a Joyce 25th anniversary commission; company favorite Momentum and a ClassicWorks revival of Tub (1973) in Program A. The engagement will also showcase The Joyce premieres of Aria (2008) and Edge (2007); and the world-premieres of Tangle and Walk It Off in Program B. PHILADANCO
Jun 16—21 (summer)
Known for their speed, athleticism and virtuosity, PHILADANCO returns to The Joyce as a prelude to their 40th Anniversary Season. In celebration of the "Philadelphia Connection," the company will present the NYC premiere of Philadelphia Experiment, a work by legendary Philadelphia hip-hop choreographer Rennie Harris (Pure Movement). By popular demand, the program will also include Enemy Behind the Gates by Christopher L. Huggins and additional works in the performance style that has delighted Joyce audiences for many years. read more »

KEIGWIN + COMPANY

KEIGWIN + COMPANY returns to The Joyce with a cast of 50 New Yorkers to re-stage its critically acclaimed Bolero/NYC. The piece is a large-scale choreographic event, satirizing two basic challenges of life in NYC: claiming space and getting attention. The New York Times said, "Bolero/NYC was the tour de force of the evening. ...it is funny, touching and a masterly piece of choreographic organization. Go." This dynamic company will also premiere one new work and fan favorites Natural Selection and Love Songs. read more »

NICHOLAS LEICHTER DANCE

Nicholas Leichter Dance makes its Joyce Theater debut with the world premiere of Killa Dance Piece, featuring original music by guest performer Monstah Black.
