Proposal Topics

Does your proposal align with a topic below?
Submit a 250-word abstract and brief bio using the Submission Form.

DANCE HISTORY AND INNOVATION

Since the late 19th Century, dancers and choreographers have experimented, invented, and embraced new technologies in their art form and continue to do so today.

We invite proposals that examine historical or contemporary examples of how dance has used tech or consider what this lineage offers to conversations.

CREATIVE PARTNERSHIPS

An outcome of today’s climate of disruption in the arts, academia, and politics has resulted in creative alliances among disciplines and institutions, resulting in breaking down silos and forging new partnerships. We invite proposals that demonstrate the unexpected and successful results as examples of new strategic relationships.

EMBODIED INTELLIGENCE

The body is the site of knowledge production, and if AI is increasingly asked to model, augment or collaborate with human intelligence, then embodied expertise can’t remain peripheral to the conversation. These perspectives are vast, multicultural, and also include neuroscience. What are embodied practices and what can they bring to AI implementation? We invite proposals that demonstrate multiple somatic techniques and/or promote discussion.

NOTES FROM THE FRINGE

Artists and innovators of color have been involved in all aspects of experimental and experiential processes yet have been historically underrepresented in conversations, teaching, funding, and exposure. Blacks in technology and Afro-Futurists among others, work to disrupt biased and obsolete patterns, and create dialogues that intersect race, gender, technology and more, towards a future of inclusivity. We invite proposals that address these perspectives in multiple formats.

CREATING WITH AR/AGI/VR

The alphabet soup of contemporary technologies has many confused about its breakthroughs and benefits of AI as it reshapes the landscape of creativity and teaching strategies, and as engineers and arts grapple with answering where does intelligence reside. If you are eager to share projects, case studies and interdisciplinary examples then We invite proposals that support creating with AI/AR/AGI/VR.
