This spring, The Joyce will celebrate the world premiere of Max Roach 100 featuring new choreographed works by Ayodele Casel, Rennie Harris, and Ronald K. Brown/EVIDENCE with Malpaso Dance Company to the legendary Jazz pioneer's greatest works. Curated by Richard Colton, the evening will recognize the legendary drummer, composer, and activist, Max Roach, a former Joyce Trustee, and pay tribute to his contributions to music and culture through dance.
This year’s festivities will honor Joyce Trustee Robert Musiker, and the lasting legacy of Max Roach, perpetuated by his family.
