West Side Fest: Pop-Up Performances
The Joyce Theater & Chelsea Green Park present
Pop-Up Performances
Featuring Dorrance Dance & Pilobolus!
UPDATE (As of 7/11/24)
The safety of our artists, staff, and audiences is our utmost priority. Due to the inclement weather forecast, tomorrow’s Pop-Up Performances with Dorrance Dance and Pilobolus at Chelsea Green Park have been cancelled. We apologize for any inconvenience.
West Side Fest returns this July 12-14! The Joyce Theater is thrilled to partner with 20+ cultural organizations across Manhattan’s West Side for the second annual festival which brings together the best of arts and culture along Manhattan’s West Side.
This year, The Joyce partners with Chelsea Green Park to present free Pop-Up Performances by the award-winning tap company Dorrance Dance and adventurous dance theater company Pilobolus.
On Friday, July 12, join us at Chelsea Green Park (W 20th St between 6th & 7th Ave) for family-friendly, sunset performances. Pop-ups start at 5pm and 6:30pm. Meet the artists during an audience Q&A after each set!
The Program
Immersive yourself in the rhythms of Dorrance Dance as the company presents a tap improvisation set by Sterling Harris and Addi Loving, with live music. Experience Pilobolus in the hypnotizing duet “Bloodlines,” featuring Hannah Klinkman and Marlon Feliz. Meet the artists during an audience Q&A after each set!
After The Joyce Theater performances, Tap Dancer Christina Carminucci will host a tap jam presented by Chelsea Green Park. Anyone can participate in the Tap Jam on a first come, first serve basis. Bring your shoes, and jump in for a few counts. Our Tap Dance Jam Session is an informal gathering for tap dancers of all ages and levels to share their love of the form through improvisation!
